Dale and his team worked hard to get my roof done on time and as promised. His willingness to "get the job done" instead of endless talk was a great asset. The fact that the owner of the business was on-site and working while the roof work was being done is a testament to the seriousness with which Dale takes his profession. My neighborhood was hit by a storm and I've seen many roofs being replaced over the months since. Most of the companies seem to have an owner/marketing team and then a separate crew to do the actual work. By the time the job is being worked, the owners are elsewhere and nowhere to be seen. Not the case with Smart Roofing.For my project, Dale came in part of the way through dealing with the insurance company. He did a great job helping me understand the process and the "industry" in a way that made sense (relative to the nonsensical nature of the insurance industry) and guiding my through the "last half" of the process.Taking into account the frenetic nature of the roofing trade, Dale at Smart Roofing did a good job communicating and answering questions with patience and diligence. His "hands-on" approach means he has a lot going on at any given time but somehow, he makes everything work.It seems clear to me why this company has survived through three generations in business in an industry where the average lifespan is only a few years. Dale, Joey and the crew are amazing! We have a cape cod with a very steep roof and a total of 5 dormers. We have a 2 car attached garage and a single car garage along with a yanky chimney that was a plain to work with. The guys were total professionals and spent a lot of time setting up ( protecting house and shrubs) and cleaning up after themselves! No huge dumpster to deal with as they had machinery to grind up and recycle old shingles. Less than 2 and a half days and we had a beautiful new roof!

My first contact with Dale Smart came about a year and a half before I thought I needed a roof. I had a random roof leak that would come and go that was driving me nuts for quite a few years. I randomly called (Smart Roofing) to see if they had any ideas on how I might find this leak. To my surprise, Dale showed up at my house a few hours later. My initial thought was that he was going to try and sell me a roof, but he didn’t. He actually found what we thought was causing the leak and did a small repair without asking for any money. The roof didn’t leak for about 1 1/2 years, when a new leak appeared out of nowhere. Once again I called Smart roofing. They got back to me promptly even when they were very swamped with other roofing jobs. Of the 3 contractors I called they had the most reasonable price. Then to make things better they got me in about a month sooner than I had originally planned. The crew came in and did the job from start to finish in 1 day including a very thorough clean up. I would highly recommend this company for your roofing needs.

Only wish there were more stars to give them. These people know what they are doing. I have used them four times now.Most recently, we had a leak in our three-seasons room. The original owner that we bought the house from told us it leaked since day one, years before. It took Dale less than five minutes on the roof to identify that the wrong skylights had been used and they were also installed incorrectly. They ordered the correct skylights and put on a new membrane roof. The room is now dry.They were timely, friendly and left the site neat and clean. All at a very fair price. I decided to get a quote from Dale at Smart Roofing because his uncle installed a high quality roof for my family many years ago. Of the three quotes I received, I decided to have Smart Roofing replace my shingles since Dale was the only contractor who took the time to personally inspect my roof and attic. Dale discovered problems with my roof that I was unaware of. Although he was slightly more expensive, I felt the additional cost was justified since Dale was very knowledgeable about shingle replacement, thoroughly explaining the methods he uses and why, he found the problems and offered cost effective solutions for the problems I was unaware of. Dale recommended that I install Certainteed Northgate class 4 shingles which qualifies me for a $90.00 yearly deduction in the cost of my homeowner's insurance. Dale and his crew arrived on time. He took the time to answer my questions during the removable and installation process. Dale and his crew completed my house and shed roof replacement in one day. His crew did an excellent job cleaning up. I highly recommend Dale and his company.

We had storm damage due to snow. These guys were quick to answer during a busy time. Not only were they quick and responsive they were so knowledgeable in their craft. Consulted us with the work that needed to be done and worked with our insurance company to get the money we needed to make all the repairs. I couldn't be more pleased with the service from Dale Smart. I called him bcs we developed a leak in the roof due to ice damning in this WI weather. He responded to my call same day, then came out in the evening to assess situation and had advice for us on how to handle the problem. Dale was kind and extremely patient with our concern, giving us time to answer all of our questions. He then came out the next day with his crew to remove snow off the roof, giving the problem area special attention. He will be back once snow is gone to fix the leak. I definitely recommend Smart Roofing.My only suggestion is to make sure to get whatever receipts and/or paperwork you need before they leave. I really needed an invoice for my home owners insurance, which I was assured I would be emailed. However, I have still not received one after a couple weeks, even after emailing a reminder about it. Luckily was able to work it out with insurance to prove work was completed. It worked out in the end so I don't hold it against them. I know they are crazy busy!

Although the other roofing contractors were slightly less expensive, we were willing to pay extra because Dale Smart would work with his customers. It was definitely worth the investment. We had many shingles throughout the roof that had blown off during high winds. Dale came out to inspect and give an estimate on the roof. Following the inspection, he offered to caulk all the exposed nail holes in the cold of winter without charge although we didn't sign a contract with him yet. That is customer service! In addition, he worked with our insurance to try to get the best reimbursement. Most importantly, Dale worked tirelessly with his crew on the job throughout the entire roof replacement to get the job done on time. Dale and his crew are so incredibly hardworking that they worked on the weekend and in unexpected rain. During the entire process, Dale was in constant communication with us, was very professional, came everyday on time, and worked with us to make everything right. At the end of the job, Dale even took the time to seal some leaky gutters, caulked exposed areas of wood on the soffit, and adjusted a few gutters at no additional cost. Our new roof looks amazing and we highly recommend Smart Roofing!

Dale to his credit rather then trying to up sell me on a roof now, convinced me to repair this one and get a couple more years from it. He gave me a great price on the repairs much less (1/5) then another roofers quote. Highly recommend Smart Roofing

Dale and his crew are incredibly responsive. We had a single raised shingle from a roof installed in 2001, and they responded immediately to address that issue and as well as another minor problem they noticed. I am totally pleased with their work and I will definitely contact Smart Roofing when I need a new roof.

What we got was nothing less than superior professional service. Dale and staff were challenged from start to finish and did an exemplary job. I think they planned on 2 days but stayed for 3 to get the job done right. They may be busy but they're worth the wait.

We were relieved when their quote came in at a very fair price. Dale came out to inspect the job and further advise on next steps, and we were so impressed with him. Working with Smart Roofing was a great experience from start to finish. Having initially solicited site visits and estimates from several different companies, we ultimately went with Smart Roofing based on the favorable price(although not the very cheapest), quality of inspection thoroughness and knowledge, local history, follow-up through the estimate process, and trust they built with us on the quality and reputation they would bring to our project. We were not disappointed with our decision, and both Tom and Dale impressed us at every turn.All of our questions prior to accepting the estimate were answered thoroughly and their advice on options for the scope of work were honest and clear. The work itself actually started earlier than initially estimated, and everyone working on site appeared very competent, paying attention to the quality of work as well as the impact on the rest of the house and yard.We were very happy with the professionalism of the companies representatives, the quality of work, and most importantly, the end result. I would definitely recommend others to use Smart Roofing & Sheet Metal.

I was very happy with Dale not only did he answer his phone (no answering services or machines) he squeezed me in his busy schedule. He help fix my leeking roof in my kitchen. Dale Jr. came out right away to help us after we found water leaking into our kitchen from the roof. Found out it was the bracket holding the telephone and electric wires pulling out from the roof and the hole where the mount goes was the little hole where water was leaking in after a storm. He pounded it back in and caulked it up for us and surveyed our entire roof and gave us estimates and valuable information on what we can do going forward to repair and get a new roof in the future. He was incredibly professional, fast, efficient, kind and fun to work with and will definitely be working with him and his company with all of our roofing needs in the future!

Our friend recommended Smart Roofing and Dale did an excellent job for us. He responded quickly to a wind damage and repaired our roof/ridge the next day. He also checked other areas to make sure that there is no blind spot left. The work is efficient, high quality, and detail oriented. We will definitely use Smart Roofing again.

Above all expectations. Great company to deal with. Very quick to respond - like same day. A fair market quote provided, with explanations of potentail add-ons as the old roof was to be torn off, and could be anticipating damage since we had leakage. Were put on the schedule for work to be completed within 6 weeks of order. They came 5 days later as an opening was available. A fantastic, hard working, polite and respectful crew, got everything completed and cleaned up in 2 and a half days. And that included a severe rain/hail storm, but everything was secured and nothing damaged. Dale Jr you are the best and you show how much you care for your working crew. Tom did a great job presenting everything to us, and follow up. You should be proud of your family company. We'll be in touch.

We had a sewer vent pipe seal leak during recent rain storms. Tried several companies around here and I guess the job was too small as I did not get one single return call. I texted Smart Roofing late morning today , and they showed up at 1:00 pm. Inspected the vent and put a new seal on it. Smart roofing just completed two jobs on my commercial properties. They installed asphalt roof on apartment and did a rubber roofrepair on the commercial property. He beat the winter in December and did a good job and noticed some other items that needed to be addressed that if we're not addressed would be a issue. I have used smart roofing now at least 4 times, and every time has been good experience.

Dale and crew are awesome. They fixed about forty years of problems. I have a shallow pitched roof and it had very poor ventilation, to the point there was a haze in the attic. Now the attic is dry and breathing great. Past owners must have had issues but the contractor they hired didn’t fix a thing, they only got new shingles. I highly recommend Smart roofing. Great price, excellent workmanship, on time and clean.
