I needed a roof really bad. I called smart Roofing talk to Dale real nice guy real nice employees. He came by. Addressed the problem. Let me know what it was and got it done in a timely manner. I suggest smart Roofing to anyone who has a roof problem or anything wrong with soffit siding, gutters they do it all and real good people to work with. I highly suggest them.

HELP! I HAVE WATER DRIPPING FROM A BATHROOM VENT! I knew who to call, Smart Roofing, who my family has used for over 15 years on 4 different roofs. I told him I needed a new roof and gutters. He came and inspected my roof and gutters and let me know my gutters didn't need replacement but my roof, yes. He helped me pick out the shingles that met my needs and fit the style of my home. The day before, they came and put the supplies on my roof so they were ready to go! The day of, the crew came and worked and kept me informed on the progress. They were polite and the crew chief made sure the site was clean before they left.You want Smart for your home!

In a world of dishonest companies and home sellers, Dale proves that good people and companies still exist. We recently moved into a home and have been on a seemingly never ending trail of repairs, and in this current saga our roof began leaking in the portion our seller replaced in 2023. We reached out to multiple companies, but Dale was extremely responsive and made us feel like a priority compared to others. When he came out he offered multiple approaches and thoroughly explained each one. He did not try to sell us on more than we needed to resolve our current issue though he did tell us his opinion on what he felt was a long term solution when it comes time to replace our roof. He is honest, kind, personable and makes sure he takes care of his customers. We will absolutely be hiring him and his team when we look to replace our roof and gutters! Thank you Dale!

Dale and his crew at Smart Roofing were recommended to us by a co-worker and they did not disappoint! Dale was very knowledgeable and obviously cares about his craft and his customers. He went out of his way to meet us for an initial quote on a weekend and his pricing was fair and very competitive. Dale’s trustworthiness and honest opinions gave us confidence to give him the job. Within a few weeks of signing the proposal, Dale and his crew worked a weekend to install our new roof before cold weather set in! We did a full roof re-deck and all new roofing/waterproofing. We were impressed with the crew’s professionalism, work ethic and overall craftsmanship. They also did a great job of cleaning up and protecting our property. Highly recommend!

Joey came out and found a number of problems with our roof and attic. He told us what needed to be done and that they would fix it correctly. They came out and did exactly what they said they would do and then some. Dale was always updating us on what they were doing and answered every question we had. Can't thank them enough..

I highly recommend Smart Roofing. Joe provided a very detailed explanation of what the job would involve. He also gave me the addresses of homes whose roofs Smart had replaced so that I see what the different colors of shingles samples looked like in place. Dale and crew removed chimney, complete tear off, replaced gutter, pitched all gutters correct and added gutter guards. Dale made sure all problems with my 100 year old house and garage was done correct. The crew was professional, courteous, and general concern for my satisfaction that far exceeded my expectations. I appreciated the clean up that was done at the end of each day. If I could give them 10 stars I would!! Thank You Dale, Joe and crew.

We are super happy that we used Smart Roofing! The experience from beginning to end was seamless. Dale came out on a Sunday (two different times!) to talk with us and address our roofing needs. He is a super nice guy who will give you his expert opinion but also listen to you and answer your hundreds of questions! Thrilled with the clean-up after the project and I am really particular about this type of thing. We could not be more pleased and will absolutely refer and use them in the future.

Smart roofing was the SMARTEST choice! Pun intended. Dale and his team provided me and my wife with a dedication to our roof from start to finish. Dale communicated effectively about the entire project. He provided samples of roof patterns for us to choose, how long the project would take and even extra repairs if necessary on why it was essential. He was always there at the start and the last one to leave the site. And personally talked with us at the end of the day about what was done. And when the project was finished he walked us through everything done and why for the customer. I would 100 percent use them again in the future!

Given the recent storms, I originally contacted my insurance company & started researching roofing companies. Joe provided an assessment, & concluded the job was too small to report a claim. He came through & took care of the quick fixes at my convenience. He was very thorough, and went above and beyond by confirming the crawl space didn’t have any damages. No other company did that, they just quoted a full replacement for a 10yr old roof or didn’t call back or show up at all! I really appreciated that given I was afraid of having my first major repair after my dad’s passing (yes, I’d consult him for all major repairs, regardless). Thanks again Joey!!

Dale and Joe stopped on out to address a cut in the pipe boot. Dale made it a priority to take time out of his busy day, and take care of this cut. He patched it, assured me that it would keep out rain, and he was done with it quickly. Upon being on my roof, he noticed I was missing a piece of shingle. He took it upon himself to also address this, and filled me in on what he saw as he was on the roof regarding any future repairs, or if we need to address anything else. This is a great family owned business, and I highly recommend supporting these guys! Support the small businesses. Thanks again guys!

Under no circumstance did we feel nickel and dimed. We felt like we were talking to a family member, which comes from being a 75 year, family owned business. It was also important to us to know they don’t contract out and use a consistent team. They completed the job we needed successfully and in an extremely timely fashion. This is a fantastic company to work with, & we especially appreciate the personal touch by Dale, the third generation family representative of the company and his associate Joey, who patiently walked us through the process of choosing our new roof—carefully discussing color, style, and special additional features such as extra roof vents, etc. As a complete tear-off, Dale explained and addressed underlying issues that were discovered during the job in a very capable and professional manner. The team who installed the roof was careful & respectful of our property, using magnets & vacuums to clean up any debris following the major yard cleanup. I was working in my yard and I happen to notice my ridge vent on my roof was missing a large section. Apparently a raccoon wanted to make residency in my attic! They were calling for rain the following day so I called Dale at Smart Roofing! He had two men there within two hours and they fixed my Problem. Had everything they needed With them, including Shingles and a large section of ridge vent. Service is awesome very professional. The price was way less than I anticipated! Make this your first call might save you some hassle!

Dale spent much time with us ahead of time explaining the Smart Roofing way of doing things to make sure we understood and chose the best roofing for our home. He took time to drop off samples so we could see our choices of shingles, color matters along with the quality of the shingle. Once that was decided we were pleased with the prompt scheduling . Dale and his roofers were on time every morning and spent extra time with attention to detail. All the workers were polite and hard working. We were surprised that Dale was right up on the roof with them. Clean up was thorough snd completed daily. We still haven't found any nails on the ground! We've had several strong wind storms since the roof was installed and are happy and relieved there are no leaks. We highly recommend Smart Roofing. Dale is a reputable, extremely knowledgable, and personable business owner. He knows his stuff !!Since his family has been in the roofing business for over thirty years, we know they are proud of him.

My real name is Lor, and I cannot stress enough how extremely satisfied I am with the folks at Smart Roofing. About a week ago (4/06/2025), my roof sustained a noticeable leak from all the rain. I did my due diligence in searching for a reputable roofing company. I ultimately settled on Smart Roofing, and I am glad I did. As soon as I filled out their online contact form, Joey and Dale Jr showed up the next day to inspect my roof. They then gave me a very reasonable quote after they informed me of all the necessary repairs. Upon accepting their quote, I was informed that they would be able to work on my roof the upcoming Saturday (4/12/2025). Lo and behold, Dale Smart Sr, Dale Jr, Joey, and the rest of the crew showed up on Saturday morning and finished the job by 5 PM; all while operating on the good faith that I will pay them. THEY DIDN'T EVEN NEED A SECURITY DEPOSIT. This is the work that they did: replaced some insulation/roof decking, reinforced some rafters, laid new shingles, installed new fascia, and correctly installed the apron on the rain gutter that is attached to my garage. They were all professional in their conduct, meticulous in their work, and conscientious enough to avoid damaging the landscaping. Now I have a new roof that will last me at least 20 years (hoping for 50 years). Needless to say I believe they have a 5-star aggregate score for a reason. I intend on encouraging everyone I know to go through Smart Roofing for their roofing needs.

We had an excellent experience with Dale from Smart Roofing. Came out to the house and spent a lot of time measuring and listening to our concerns. Provided a prompt proposal which was more competitive with better materials than the competitors proposals. In addition to the roof and gutters, we wanted a solar tube, and needed extensive work on a sunroom. Unexpected warm days in January and the guys came out and completed all the work. Dale was there every day with the guys, they worked efficiently, and cleaned everything up. Highly recommend.

We had an exceptional experience with Smart Roofing. We needed our roof and gutters replaced sooner rather than later due to a leak that had developed. We were hoping to hire a local contractor. Dale was quick to respond (unlike 3 other contractors I had called), very professional and organized. He explained the process then answered all my questions and concerns. There was no lengthy sales pitch. He was honest and straightforward with his quote. Dale and his team worked quickly, efficiently and very hard. We had Smart Roofing replace the roofing shingles on our home due to hail damage. We really wanted to work with a local contractor with a good reputation.We were very pleased with Smart Roofing - Dale and Joe came to inspect and verify the damage, and then Dale came back when the insurance adjuster was here to point out all that needed to be done. We worked directly with Dale to define what we wanted done and that it was important to us to be careful not to damage our landscaping and patios and have a thorough cleanup when they were done.We were very satisfied with their work - they had an efficient crew and supervision on site for the entire job. Complete work took only one and one half days - including installation of new gutter guards to replace original hail damaged ones. Cleanup was great with no damage to landscaping.Smart Roofing were efficient in working with our insurance company.We would definitely recommend Smart Roofing to anyone who needs a new roofing system. Excellent company to work with.

Dale and his team worked hard to get my roof done on time and as promised. His willingness to "get the job done" instead of endless talk was a great asset. The fact that the owner of the business was on-site and working while the roof work was being done is a testament to the seriousness with which Dale takes his profession. My neighborhood was hit by a storm and I've seen many roofs being replaced over the months since. Most of the companies seem to have an owner/marketing team and then a separate crew to do the actual work. By the time the job is being worked, the owners are elsewhere and nowhere to be seen. Not the case with Smart Roofing.For my project, Dale came in part of the way through dealing with the insurance company. He did a great job helping me understand the process and the "industry" in a way that made sense (relative to the nonsensical nature of the insurance industry) and guiding my through the "last half" of the process.Taking into account the frenetic nature of the roofing trade, Dale at Smart Roofing did a good job communicating and answering questions with patience and diligence. His "hands-on" approach means he has a lot going on at any given time but somehow, he makes everything work.It seems clear to me why this company has survived through three generations in business in an industry where the average lifespan is only a few years. I would recommend Smart Roofing.

Dale, Joey and the crew are amazing! We have a cape cod with a very steep roof and a total of 5 dormers. We have a 2 car attached garage and a single car garage along with a yanky chimney that was a plain to work with. The guys were total professionals and spent a lot of time setting up ( protecting house and shrubs) and cleaning up after themselves! No huge dumpster to deal with as they had machinery to grind up and recycle old shingles. Less than 2 and a half days and we had a beautiful new roof!

My first contact with Dale Smart came about a year and a half before I thought I needed a roof. I had a random roof leak that would come and go that was driving me nuts for quite a few years. I randomly called (Smart Roofing) to see if they had any ideas on how I might find this leak. To my surprise, Dale showed up at my house a few hours later. My initial thought was that he was going to try and sell me a roof, but he didn’t. He actually found what we thought was causing the leak and did a small repair without asking for any money. The roof didn’t leak for about 1 1/2 years, when a new leak appeared out of nowhere. Once again I called Smart roofing. They got back to me promptly even when they were very swamped with other roofing jobs. Of the 3 contractors I called they had the most reasonable price. Then to make things better they got me in about a month sooner than I had originally planned. The crew came in and did the job from start to finish in 1 day including a very thorough clean up. I would highly recommend this company for your roofing needs.

Only wish there were more stars to give them. These people know what they are doing. I have used them four times now.Most recently, we had a leak in our three-seasons room. The original owner that we bought the house from told us it leaked since day one, years before. It took Dale less than five minutes on the roof to identify that the wrong skylights had been used and they were also installed incorrectly. They ordered the correct skylights and put on a new membrane roof. The room is now dry.They were timely, friendly and left the site neat and clean. All at a very fair price. They are the only people that I will ever leave on my roof.Thank you Smart Roofing!

Very happy with the services from Smart Roofing! Both Tom and Dale were great to work with from start to finish. My older home had some challenges and Dale came onsite and spent an hour and a half working through a plan to address my needs and explained options along the way ( I had other estimates and nobody else focused on getting to the bottom of the problem). Dale was very patient and addressed any questions or concerns I had. Dale and his team stayed late to get the roof done and cleaned up everything as well. I wouldn’t hesitate to work with Dale and his team again as honesty and integrity seem to be at the core of what they do. Thank you!

I decided to get a quote from Dale at Smart Roofing because his uncle installed a high quality roof for my family many years ago. Of the three quotes I received, I decided to have Smart Roofing replace my shingles since Dale was the only contractor who took the time to personally inspect my roof and attic. Dale discovered problems with my roof that I was unaware of. Although he was slightly more expensive, I felt the additional cost was justified since Dale was very knowledgeable about shingle replacement, thoroughly explaining the methods he uses and why, he found the problems and offered cost effective solutions for the problems I was unaware of. Dale recommended that I install Certainteed Northgate class 4 shingles which qualifies me for a $90.00 yearly deduction in the cost of my homeowner's insurance. Dale and his crew arrived on time. He took the time to answer my questions during the removable and installation process. Dale and his crew completed my house and shed roof replacement in one day. His crew did an excellent job cleaning up. I highly recommend Dale and his company.

My experience with Smart Roofing was fantastic. From the salesman, Tom that spent a lot of time with me, to the owner Dale, who's professionalism and attention to detail was amazing. Of course not to forget the crew that was incredible at their craft. Our property is a side-by-side, so essentially it was 2 roofs... and it really only took a day to do.The ENTIRE experience was wonderful, the price was right, and I would highly recommend them.

Smart roofing did our roof in 2003. We had a great experience then. Fast forward to 2024. We had to have some gutter repair work done. The response was quick and courteous. The repair was done superbly. Dale even inspected the roof from 2003 and tighten up some screws left by an old Direct TV dish. I highly recommend this company!! Superior service.

Dale and his crew did a great job! The crew arrived early and worked hard. The roof looks great, exactly what we wanted! Dale also installed a solar tube in a dark hallway, it's perfect. Clean up, both inside and out, could not have been better. I highly recommend!

We had storm damage due to snow. These guys were quick to answer during a busy time. Not only were they quick and responsive they were so knowledgeable in their craft. Consulted us with the work that needed to be done and worked with our insurance company to get the money we needed to make all the repairs. They were very professional to work with day of and were efficient when getting the job done. It’s good to know there are honest crafts and tradesmen out there who take pride in their work. I’d recommend working with them to anyone.

I couldn't be more pleased with the service from Dale Smart. I called him bcs we developed a leak in the roof due to ice damning in this WI weather. He responded to my call same day, then came out in the evening to assess situation and had advice for us on how to handle the problem. Dale was kind and extremely patient with our concern, giving us time to answer all of our questions. He then came out the next day with his crew to remove snow off the roof, giving the problem area special attention. He will be back once snow is gone to fix the leak. We could not be more pleased with the care and expertise with which he handled the problem.

Recently had a roof replacement. Dale and his team were great! He is friendly, knowledgeable, and explained the entire process. Not pushy at all and price was very reasonable. He was onsite during the entire roof installation and everyone on his team was very professional. They were punctual and workmanship was exceptional. The proposal was very thorough and the follow through was beyond expectation. Great communication and crew supervision and thus, the crew was prompt, courteous and efficient. Dale solved a drainage issue by extending the second floor downspout into the gutter.They also installed Smart Guard gutter covers to keep drainage clean and free.From over all value to final cleanup every aspect of this hire was perfect!

We are extremely pleased with the Smart Roofing Company. Tom and Dale were professional, punctual, communicative, highly skilled and attentive to detail. Dale and his team tore off two layers of shingles and installed a new roof including a special sheet to prevent water damage due to ice build up. They installed roof vents, new gutters, gutter guards and chimney flashing.They did a great job color coordinating trim and flashing. Workmanship was excellent.They came the day before installation to stage their equipment so they could complete our project in one day including clean up.Thank you Tom, Dale and Installers. Dale and his crew did an excellent job in replacing our roof. Affordable, very efficient and conscientious about clean up. It was done in one day and the roof looks fabulous. I definitely recommend Smart Roofing.My only suggestion is to make sure to get whatever receipts and/or paperwork you need before they leave. I really needed an invoice for my home owners insurance, which I was assured I would be emailed. However, I have still not received one after a couple weeks, even after emailing a reminder about it. Luckily was able to work it out with insurance to prove work was completed. It worked out in the end so I don't hold it against them. I know they are crazy busy!
